A few weeks ago I posted about wedding guest attire and how to decide what you should wear to your upcoming family and friends nuptials this summer. How does one determine that a wedding is more formal than another? The invitation as previously mentioned, might provide some hints! Occasionally, the dress code will be clearly stated on the invitation as “black tie”, wherein there will be no guessing as to how formal your look will need to be. Otherwise, take note of the thickness of the invitation, as well as whether the invite features letter-pressed or foil-embossed print, as this can allude to the formality of the event. There are also plenty of great hints about what to wear in this Huffington Post article!
This dress from H&M is perfect for a more formal wedding! Last summer I became a major fan of yellow, and when I saw this radiant dress, I thought this was a beautiful take on the tone. Almost a burnt orange, this satin high-low halter neck dress (that’s a mouthful isn’t it?) is airy and comfortable, but also proves to take your wedding guest apparel to the next level.
The moment I saw this clutch, I knew I needed it. This mini floral cross body bag from Zara is priced at $45 and can take you from the ceremony to reception at your next wedding event. The removable gold chain helps this bag go from day to night, as well as it fitting all of your must-have items.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t attend formal events super often. So when I do, I prefer not to spend a lot of money on footwear, considering I’ll only be wearing the pair of heels a few times. I saw these at Forever21 for a very reasonable price and thought to myself, these would be perfect to really amp up a look. The three strap detailing gives them a feminine touch, while still providing the security of a shoe you can walk around in with confidence.
Pelee Island Winery located in Kingsville is a beautiful spot to host a prenuptial event such as a shower or a rehearsal dinner, or you can swing by on Sundays and enjoy their “Summer Sundays” on the patio, or even sign up to participate in a wine tour!
I kept the jewellry minimal with this look because the dress was the main event. I am always wearing my yellow gold bracelet from Wharram’s Jewllery and added some simple gold hoops to compliment the gold undertones of the dress.
