I’ve had a few people ask me about my skincare routine, and it’s a process I’ve maintained for about a year or so. After struggling with adult acne, I sought help from a local dermatologist in the Windsor area, and afterwards was scheduled for a chemical peel. He also recommended this line of products by a brand named, Vivier. After removing my eye makeup with a makeup remover solution, I then go in with the hexam gentle cleanser. This first step helps to deep clean pores and purifies skin by removing dirt and oil. Being someone that has more oily skin, this cleanser works well to clean my skin without that tight feeling.
Post cleansing, I go in with a Vitamin C oil otherwise known as Serum 10 by Vivier. After patting my face dry, I place a couple drops of the serum onto my clean hands and start at the bottom of my neck, moving in an upwards motion toward my face. This oil helps reduce signs of environmental damage such as fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture, tone, and is also said to work best on oily skin types. It’s never too early to start using some preventative products! Being 25, I think experimenting with products that can help me stay looking youthful for many years to come can’t hurt… is forever too much to ask?
Once the serum is rubbed onto my neck and face, I apply the Sunscreen Lotion 30 SPF 30. I also like to use my hands to apply this product in an upwards motion on the same neck and face area. I believe it’s important to use SPF year round, and this light daily moisturizer is a perfect way to incorporate SPF into my daily skincare routine. This is all I use on my face in the morning! The next steps would be my everyday makeup look, which will be coming soon to the blog.
As for my night time skincare routine, I use the hexam gentle cleanser once again (after removing my eye makeup), and do one of three things. One night, I will let my skin breath and actually put nothing on it. The following night, I’ll use a medically prescribed topical cream called Differin, which is an over the counter acne treatment, I learned from my dermatologist that spot treatment is not the way to go. Instead, be preventative by using a small amount of the acne treatment of your choice all over your face. Finally, I use an AHA/BHA Exfoliating cream, which has antioxidants and peptides in it. The Vivier website details that “the cream is a 3 in 1 solution for flawless skin that gently exfoliates, clear problematic skin, and offers anti-aging benefits”. Doesn’t that sound good?
This completes my 3 day cycle of nightly skincare!
There you have it! My daily and nightly skincare routine is what I would consider minimal, using only 4-5 products. I would love to try a mask for sensitive skin, comment below if you have any suggestions! I’ve heard great things about the Peter Thomas Roth collection of masks. Also, this was not a sponsored post. I just really believe these products keep my skin clear and maintain a smooth complexion.
Do your research, consider trying these effective products, and if not, try others that suit your skin type, texture, and needs! You’ll eventually find a combination of products that work well together and provide the best treatment for your skin. If you’re interested in picking up any of these products locally, I purchase them from Dr. Patrick Smith’s Riverside Medical Centre, located at 7875 Riverside Dr. E. Happy Saturday!
